Hi there, I’m Marie-Claire

Post university, Marie-Claire completed her initial ESL CELTA training in London at International House teaching students with refugee status. Since then, she has accumulated over 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of different countries and settings.

 

Her experience is predominantly with adults and has included teaching Business English in corporate settings in New York (Berlitz, IBM, L’Oreal, Microsoft, KRAFT), Paris (Apple Macintosh, KLM, Banques Populaires-Groupe BCBP, Altair Engineering, France) and Jerez in Southern Spain (Harveys Bristol cream, Barbadillo Pedro Xinemez).

 

After returning to the UK from New York, she completed the DELTA at Bath University while simultaneously directing her own language courses at Bath Academy. She has taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) on pre- sessional courses for university students, IELTS preparation (academic pathway) for overseas students wishing to enter British universities via the UCAS system as well as Advanced Level Psychology in the independent school system. She was also an IGCSE examiner for the Southwest of England.

 

During a 3-year sabbatical in the Middle East, she worked on vocational training programs for young Saudi women wishing to enter the workforce, which led to an invitation to work for the Ministry of Health preparing students for health-related jobs, including nursing, in addition to running Teacher Training workshops for Saudi nationals.

 

In 2018, Marie-Claire completed the language preparation training for OET. She has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field and is currently providing online coaching to prospective OET and IELTS candidates.
